Transfers of land can gives us useful information, not just by naming some of the land owners in an area, but by telling us something about the value of the land and buildings on it. Not surprisingly the church was once again a major beneficiary!

Grant by Andre le Barkere of Rameseye and Emma Bekky his wife to John son of John Palliwolle of Somersham of a yearly rent from a tenement in Rameseye lying in le Briggestrete.

Note of a fine for the conveyance to William de Harleston, clerk, by Richard de Rikedon and Joan his wife of a messuage, 200 acres of land and 8 acres of meadow in Somersham Colne and Blunticham. Wiolliam to pay a yearly rent of 11 ½ marks to Richard and Joan for the rest of their lives.
