Clearing the Church
1552

As the Reformation swept through the England of Edward VI, so commissioners of the church went around the country taking an inventory of all the fancy garments, and plate that the "old" catholic religion made use of. Once each church had been given the minimum requirements to satisfy the "new" protestantism, the rest was sold off for the good of the church and the poor. Some of the archaic words below can be hacked back into English, some are a little more obscure. Latten was a word for a copper alloy similar to brass.
