Pint pots
1472

Even a small town such as Somersham supported a wide variety of trades by the end of the middle ages. In other items we have seen evidence of millers, potters, boatmen and charcoal burners. This item from the close rolls mentions a very different kind of worker who would have made the mediaeval equivalent of drinking glasses.

From the Closs Rolls Edward IV year 12

10 June 1472

Robert Castell pewterer of Somersham county Huntingdon gives to John Robertson weaver of London, his executors and assigns:
Gift of all his goods and chattels in Somersham aforesaid and elsewhere within the realm and of all debts due to him, and he has put them in possession thereof by delivery of 2d.
